21 Seasons in the City – Didi Lehnhausen
The studio of artist Didi Lehnhausen will be on the terrace on 5 May. That day she will give the go-ahead for a special work of art and painting – 21 Seasons in the City.
Over the next five years, Didi will grow the canvas layer by layer, as long as the war lasted. A new layer is added each season, based on a story from the war that parallels the time of year at the time.
“21 Seasons in the City is both a painting and a performance. We often look at the war as a single event, but with this work I want to approach it as a succession of events in which freedoms were taken away on all kinds of fronts.”
From atrocities to heroics and everyday life that went on. Every three months a new image can be admired on the canvas, which will eventually be completed in five years.
See Didi go live May 5th!
EXPO Opening PR:OUD
We are living longer than ever before, and we are aging better than ever before. And yet, many people feel less valuable with each passing year. Why is that?
Aging certainly presents its challenges, just like any other phase of life. But why do we hold on to outdated and mostly negative stereotypes of older people?
With PR:OUD, the creators present a completely different image of aging. They highlight the strength, beauty, and wisdom of a person at an older age. Because having inspiring examples helps, and because aging is not a problem to be solved or a disease to be cured, but a natural, powerful, and lifelong process that unites us all.
This beautiful exhibition will be opened on Friday, May 5th at 6:00 PM in our Art Gallery.
