Our Story

We started 30 years ago as a sleep-inn for free spirits, young world travellers and creatives.
 
We have since grown into a four-star boutique hotel, with beautiful rooms and a delicious café/restaurant.
 
Always located in Amsterdam and part of the city we call home, we have always managed to follow our local and international heart for culture.

Sint Elisabeth

Our iconic, monumental building: ”the Sint Elisabeth Gesticht” has stood in the Oosterpark since 1888.
 
Started as a Roman Catholic nursing home that gave shelter to invalid and sick orphan girls, the beautiful building has had many uses since then.
 
From refuge for refugees to the obstetrics department of the nearby ”Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis”.
 
From a nursing home for the elderly to a ‘sleep-in’ to accommodate the masses of Damslapers that our Amsterdam municipality did not know what to do with.
