Yasmin-Claire Tan

Expo opening Sunday, July 16

When Yasmin-Claire Tan was photographing flowers thirteen years ago, she became fascinated by a beautiful rose sitting on her table. She wanted to get closer to the heart of that rose. That took love and patience. After some time, the fragile petals soaked apart and revealed their secret. Studying and photographing the rose felt intimate. More flowers followed.

Often there came a moment when a flower revealed its femininity (and sometimes masculinity) to Yasmin’s camera. That process was exciting and magical, as if she had no control over it. Thus, flower by flower, the photo series Sacrée Fleur was born.

“I hope my flowers will inspire people to see that all women are like flowers – beautiful and unique.”

From tulip to rose, each flower in the series has its own beauty, unique shape and color, reminiscent of the most intimate part of woman, which is as magical as it is sacred. Wander through the beautiful chapel and corridors of the Hotel Arena and be enchanted by the magnificent and alluring flowers seen through Yasmin’s eyes.

The birthing ceremony of Yasmin-Claire Tan’s floral photographs will take place July 16, 2023 from 4 p.m. onwards. The work will be on view through August 14, 2023.
